Ross Paterson creative writing award by West Country Blacksmiths

The Ross Paterson creative writing award was designed and made by the award winning craftsmen of West Country Blacksmiths.

The Trophy is presented to a student of Richard Huish College annually by the Get Home Safe uk, a charity formed in memory of former student Ross Paterson.

The highly skilled craftsmen spend many weeks handcrafting the realistic life-size hand holding a pen solid from solid metal along with a brass ribbon wrapped around the artwork. The piece has then been textured, heat treated, polished and matt lacquered to give a beautiful raw steel finish.

The metalwork is mounted onto wood with a based with an engraved brass plaque.

Helen Evans of Get home safe uk said – “We are blown away. The trophy is so beautiful and better than we could have ever imagined.”

The trophy was designed and made by West Country Blacksmiths, Allerford Forge, Nr Minehead, Somerset, TA24 8HN
