Bespoke stags head trophies made for the Samworth Brothers charity challenge Exmoor 2019

The Samworth Brothers charity challenge is a bi-annual triathlon-style challenge held in a different location each event which raises money for both local and national charities.

Exmoor was the hosts of the 2019 event with Exmoor based West Country Blacksmiths invited to design five bespoke trophies for the event. The award winning bespoke metalwork specialists were tasked with designing unique trophies with an Exmoor theme.

The blacksmiths produced several designs which include Exmoor Ponies and beautiful Exmoor scenery, however the famous Exmoor stag was chosen as the feature for the trophies.

The craftsmen spent many weeks hand-crafting the artistic stags head grazing from solid metal. The steel was then textured, heat treated, polished and matt lacquered to give a beautiful raw steel finish.

The beautiful stags head artwork was mounted onto slices of wind felled wood from the local Holnicote Estate to make every part of the trophies truly Exmoor.

Bespoke engraved plaques were mounted to each of the five trophies which were presented to the winners of each category.

Alison Rudkin, of Samworth Brothers, said: “We are so pleased that we were recommended to West Country Blacksmiths by the local community as the metalwork they have produced for us is absolutely stunning and better than we could have ever imagined. It’s been a privilege to work with such a talented team of tradesmen.”
